The Flagler County Medical Society, with only seven original members, received its charter in 1978 from the Florida Medical Association. The Society now has 62 members. The Society serves multiple functions in the community including granting scholarships to students pursuing education in the medical field, participation in health fairs, giving free physicals to high school athletes, physician service to charitable institutions and community service organizations, and contributing financially to various organizations. Along with Florida Hospital-Flagler and the Flagler County Health Department, the Society seeks to provide citizens with high quality medical care that continues to grow and improve with the County's rapidly expanding population.
